In 10 quick and easy steps, I turn a plain cheese pizza into a Rotisserie Chicken Taco pizza. Fast and simple to prepare!
I don’t know about your family, but I know that once September hits, my family gets crazy busy. Between PTO meetings, Library meetings, two Girl Scout troops, leader meetings, soccer practice and play practice, getting dinner on the table quickly, and at a reasonable hour is a challenge. In fact some nights, I just have the kids eat a bowl of cereal and I have the hubby bring home dinner on the way home from work (sometimes he doesn’t get home until about 10 pm, so late dinner for the grown ups!). I’m trying to be better at meal planning so that doesn’t happen. Thanks to Walmart’s Effortless Meals, it’s a lot easier!
Walmart and Coca Cola has put together three different “Effortless Meals” which are:
Marketside Rotisserie Chicken Meal: Rotisserie Chicken (29 oz.), 2 lb. Side (Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad, or Cole Slaw), and 2 Liter Coca-Cola product.
Marketside Pizza Meals: 16″ pepperoni pizza or 16″ five cheese pizza and 2 Liter Coca-Cola product.
Marketside Sandwich Meals: 6″ sandwich, bag of chips (Kettle Brand) and 16oz Coca-Cola product
It’s very easy to come up with “Effortless Meals” when most of the work is done for you! I’m going to show you just how easy it is to “doctor up” a store bought pizza and show you “10 Easy Steps To Get Dinner On The Table On A Busy Night” I hope you enjoy!
1: Head to your local Walmart’s Deli section and find the easy to spot Effortless Meals signage. Walmart makes it super easy to prepare a healthy meal in a flash for busy families, making the back to school routine so much easier!
2: Purchase your ingredients to make a Marketside Rotisserie Chicken Taco Pizza which include, a Large Marketside Five Cheese Pizza, a Marketside Rotisserie Chicken, a small jar of taco sauce, cheddar cheese, a head of lettuce and a green pepper. Don’t forget your sides! I purchased a 2 Liter of Coke and a 2 pound container of potato salad which are a part of the Marketside Chicken Rotisserie Meal and are purchased together as a bundle. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
3: Pick the meat off the chicken, discarding the skin. (Save the carcass for chicken soup at a later date. Just put it in a freezer bag and freeze!) Add about 3/4 of the jar of taco sauce and mix well.
4: Take your pizza out of the box and plastic. Spread the chicken on the top of the pizza.
5: Sprinkle the pizza with cheddar cheese.
6: Place pizza on the middle shelf of your pre-heated oven. Bake for 16 minutes, until cheese is melted and crust is golden brown.
7: While the pizza is baking, cut up your “Taco Toppings”. I chose lettuce and green pepper, but you could also add tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, etc.
8: Take the hot pizza out of the oven. Be careful, that cheese is super hot!
9: Add your toppings to the pizza, then carefully cut into slices.
10: Sit down with your family and enjoy your meal!
