I live in Maine. For all of you who have never been here, we have 3 seasons, Mud season, Black fly season and Frickin cold season. The latter lasts about 9 months. So needless to say I am constantly looking for ways to keep warm! My office is particularly freezing so I am always suffering from "Mouse hand". "What is that?" You ask. Well Mouse hand is the technical term for when your hand nearly freezes off because you have been sitting on your butt for far … [Read more...]

My son at the Craft Fair and a fantastic ornament!
This past Sunday my family decided to go to a local craft fair. I usually don't bring the children because these things are usually a zoo, and I have seen way to many movies about children being separated from their parents in a crowd, and there was that time when I was about 5 when I lost my mommy at a fair, but any way... My youngest son Rowan was so exited to go and he said " I can't wait to go to the craft fair, cause I can't wait to make some crafts". After I … [Read more...]
Tis’ the season…..To get sick!
I hate to get sick....(like anyone really loves it right?). I also don't like to take medication. I am not a big fan of giving it to my kids either, so I only do it when absolutely necessary. I was very curious when I was sent a bottle of Cough syrup from the good people over at Zarbee's. Zarbee's is an all natural cough syrup made out of honey that is safe for ages 12 months and up. It is 100% drug free, which I love! Here is a blurb of information directly from Zarbee's website:"When Dr. … [Read more...]

Why do kids ask so many questions?
As a mother I am asked about 40 million questions a day. I swear nobody informed me that I would need to be a genius with multiple PH D's to become a mother. My kids are constantly asking me questions like: Why is the sky blue? Why do we have skin? How come Rowan farts? Why does Turniphead's fur come out? etc. I now hopefully have the answer! I was sent The Handy Answer Book for Kids (and parents) from Visible Ink Press and aMomEntrepreneur.com to review. This book is great for … [Read more...]

A journey into cloth diapering…
When I found out that I was pregnant with my youngest child, Katie, I knew I wanted to try cloth diapers. I never had them for my sons because I kept hearing the horror stories about cloth diapers from when I was a baby. Well shortly after Katie was born, my husband lost his job and I never had the funds to purchase a starter pack of cloth diapers. So I pushed the thought of using them out of my head, Even though using disposables is definitely NOT cost effective … [Read more...]

I recently received Chocolate A Love story by Max Brenner from Hachette Book Group to review. I was pretty excited because as a female I have an extreme love of the goodness that is Chocolate! The cookbook has a slightly 70's retro look to it, but the recipes inside are fantastically timeless. Due to a crazy couple of weeks I have been unable to make any of the delicious treats inside the book, but I plan to as soon as possible! One of the recipes that I am dying to try is the Lipstick banana … [Read more...]
