My family and I are a bunch of geeks. We love all things Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord Of The Rings and Stargate. My kids play Minecraft and on Friday nights we play Magic The Gathering with our geeky friends! My hubby is a bit more geeky then I, he was really into D&D when he was younger, while I have only played a game or two. Even our taste in music is a bit geeky, with They Might Be Giants being a particular favorite!

Of course being the geeks that we are, we have a habit of getting all giddy when the new catalog from ThinkGeek comes in the mail. ThinkGeek is a shopping Mecca for all things nerdy and geeky! They have everything from USB Lightsaber Lamps, Star Trek Enterprise Pizza Cutters and Doctor Who t-shirts!

I think I just about lost it when I saw that ThinkGeek carried a Blue Canary In The Outlet By The Light Switch nightlight! Check out the hilarious product description (TMBG fans will get why this is so funny!) :

He’s your only friend. He’s not your only friend. But he’s a little glowing friend. But really he’s not actually your friend. But he–nevermind, let’s not put too fine a point on it. He wants to be the only bee in your bonnet and that’s all that matters, right?

Your only friend

You’re probably wondering why it took 21 years for the world to finally make a blue canary nightlight. We’re not sure, but we suspect the sparrow that doesn’t tell you anything you want to know had something to do with it–or Triangle Man, who always seems to win.

Plug this little guy in an outlet by a light switch and the energy efficient, light-sensitive LED will glow cheerfully as light fades. You’ll never have to whistle in the dark again! Unless that’s the only one thing that you like, in which case you can leave the Blue Canary unplugged from the Outlet by the Light Switch.

For those of you not familiar with the song here it is:

I absolutely love my nightlight. My friends and I think it’s hilarious!

I can see myself spending tons of money on all the geekery on ThinkGeek. Make sure you check out ThinkGeek, they have something for the geek in all of us!
