It is only the middle of January and it’s already been a brutal cold and flu season this year. Almost everyone I know has some form of runny nose, hacking cough, spiking temp…you name it. My family has not been spared either, as I write this post my poor daughter is in the next room watching The Wonder Pets, nose dripping away, and my nose is along for the joy ride. Since Christmas, someone in my family has had some form of a cold, and if it weren’t for Scotties tissues we would have some pretty raw noses by now!

1scotties3

Fortunately for me I received a wonderful Care package from Scotties in early December, which consisted of 6 boxes of tissues. What perfect timing for me…. not so much for them, as I was supposed to get this review up weeks ago! However the cold bug has kept me down and out until now.

1scotties2Scotties tissues are so soft and not at all scratchy and rough on the nose. Exactly what you need when your face hurts from all the blowing and dripping. Scotties tissues come in 3 varieties, 2 ply, 3 ply and Aloe, which is my favorite for added softness. One of my favorite things about Scotties, is that for every tree they use to produce the tissues, they plant three more in it’s place. How’s that for sustainability?

So make sure you are prepared for that unexpected and very unwelcome cold, by stocking up on Scotties tissues, which can be purchased at most grocery and big box stores!

Keep up to date with Scotties by following them on Facebook.

Win It: One lucky reader will win a Scotties Care Package!

I don’t fool around-drastic measures are taken when I have a cold. I boil 1 cup of molasses with 1/3 cup cider vinegar until syrup hardens in icewater and forms a thick thread, remove from heat and add 1/2 of a small raw, finely diced onion. This hellish mixture is poured onto a chilled, buttered dish- my grandfather’s cold remedy. Victim, er PATIENT, that is, is required to eat all of this before bedtime.
