Father’s Day Shadow Box

Father’s Day Craft Ideas – Guest Post

So Father’s days is approaching soon. Have you planned anything for your father? Have you thought how to surprise him or what gift to buy? Not yet. Well, if you still have not bought any gift, don’t buy anything. Yes, you have heard it right. Don’t buy anything for your father. Instead of buying something you can simply give him a handmade gift. Don’t you think your father will be pleased to get something that you have made with your own hands? He will definitely appreciate your effort.

How about making a shadow box for your father?

Making a shadow box can be fun. You can either take a small empty box ad decorate it in your own way. You can paint it or use colorful papers to decorate it or anything you wish to do. You can go creative while designing a shadow box. You can also buy a shadow box from nearby crafts store. You should fill the shadow box with things that your dad loves. After why are you making all the arrangements – to make your dad feel special, right? So the gift you offer him should have special meaning for him.

For example, if your dad loves fishing you can make him a fishing shadow box. You can fill the box with some lures, some treble hooks or a small roll of fishing line. Your dad will be glad to get such a thoughtful gift. If fishing is not your dad’s choice, he may enjoy playing golf. In that case your shadow box can include things like a golf ball, his golf score cards, some tees and so on. If your shadow box is too small for the actual items, then you can find some miniatures of those original items and place the miniatures in the shadow box you have designed.

If you are not quite sure what is your dad’s favorite hobby or if he doesn’t have a hobby at all, you can still gift him a shadow box, containing photographs of your family or even his childhood photographs with his friends. This will definitely be a gift that your father will cherish for time to come.
