Fried Cheese Stuffed Doritos‏ – Oh Sweet Cheesy Goodness!

Fried Cheese Stuffed Doritos

I usually tend to try to stick to healthy foods, and most of the time, I succeed. I however, have two big weaknesses, coffee and cheese. Pretty much you can entice me with any delicious coffee beverage at any time, and if you wave cheese in my face and I completely surrender.  I am a slave to the cheese, except swiss that is. I mean what is with all the holes…and the smell? Anyway these Fried Cheese Stuffed Doritos‏ just beg to be eaten…in mass quantities! So yummy!

What you will need:

2 lbs Of Medium  Cheddar Cheese

1 1/2 Cups of Nacho Cheese Doritos

1  1/2 Cups Of Spicy Nacho Cheese Doritos

4 Eggs

1  1/2 Cups of Flour

1/2 Teaspoon of Black Pepper

1  1/2 Teaspoons of Garlic Powder

1 Quart of Vegetable/Canola Oil

in progress 2

Directions:

Cut Cheese into 1/2 inch squares then slice each square diagonally to make triangles

In a Separate bowl put your 1  1/2 cups of flour

In a Separate bowl beat your 4 eggs until well blended

In your food processor add both flavor of Doritos, Pepper and Garlic Powder and blend until it looks like course breadcrumbs. (if Doritos do not coat well then blend more). Place your blend in a separate bowl.

Now you will need a cookie sheet lined with Parchment Paper (set at the end of your assembly line)

Take your cheese and coat it in the flour (not heavily coated) , then place in the egg. Make sure the egg stick to the floured cheese. Then place it in your Dorito blend, make sure it is coated good. ( if you are having a hard time getting Dorito mix to stick then blend a little more).

Place Coated cheese triangles on your parchment covered cookie sheet. You will need to place them in the freezer for 2-3 hours (until frozen)

When ready take you 1 quart of oil and heat to 350 degrees ( in pan or if you have a fryer)

When your oil reaches temp place the Dorito Covered Cheese triangles in the oil for 1-2 minutes or until they are lightly browned. (do not over cook or cheese will all melt out) Remove with slotted spoon and place on a paper towel to soak excess grease.

Serve Immediately!!

I served with Tostitos Nacho Cheese Dip
