When you think of McDonald’s, what automatically comes to mind? I’m guessing hamburgers and McNuggets, right? Well here in Maine, we can now add Lobster Rolls to that list! Yes, you read that right! “Maine McDonald’s restaurants are excited to announce their latest menu offering rolling out across the northeast – the new 100% Real Lobster Roll made with a generous amount of meat is laid on a fresh crisp bed of lettuce and loaded on homestyle toasted roll. This limited time sandwich is offered at $7.99 and only 290 calories. For an even healthier option customers can also request to have their lobster on a side salad instead of a roll.”
When @McD_Maine (McDonald’s Maine PR team) contacted me about trying the new Lobster Roll, I couldn’t help but say yes! I love lobster, yet because of the price tag, I rarely get to indulge. I find that $7.99 is a very reasonable price for McDonald’s New Lobster Roll. I thought that the sandwich was very good, not the best, but certainly not the worst I’ve ever had. My sandwich had large chunks of claw meat and the portion of meat itself was very nice. It had just the right amount of lettuce and the roll was also very tasty. I could tell that the lobster meat was most likely frozen instead of fresh off the boat, but that really only affected the texture, not the flavor. All in all I think the sandwich was pretty good, but I might add a little salt and pepper next time I grab one!
If you’re in Maine, I suggest you try a McDonald’s New Lobster Roll, you just might be surprised how good they really are!
