I know I have mentioned my daughter Katherine on my blog a couple of times, but have not written about my sons yet. Ethan, my almost 10 year old is a fantastically kind boy. He was diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder Not Otherwise Specified, or PDD-NOS when he was six. Basically it means that he has some speech, fine motor and gross motor delays and also a touch of ADD/Hyperactivity. Ethan has been receiving OT and PT as well as Developmental therapy in School since Kindergarten which has helped immensely. According to the specialists he will outgrow most of his symptoms by the time he is in High school. This summer we noticed a huge change in Ethan. He never used to acknowledge that his brother existed, he would never play with Rowan. Well this summer he would wrestle and tease Rowan. Most parents think this is normal and annoying behavior. I was overjoyed! What a milestone for Ethan! Rowan, who will be 8 in January is a ham. He loves to dress up in costumes and sing. He loves Karaoke games especially Lips on the Xbox 360. I have enrolled Rowan in a local children’s theater for storytelling classes. He will be a natural!
